We are proud to share that Built has been selected as one of the 23 digital laureates from 4 African countries for the inaugural cohort of the AFD for Inclusive & Digital Business in Africa (AFIDBA) program by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD)! 🎉
This prestigious recognition highlights the impact of our platform in promoting financial inclusion and empowering small businesses to access essential financial services, including loans they previously couldn’t qualify for.
What This Means for Built
As part of this six-month accelerator, Built will receive EUR 30,000 in funding, which will help us accelerate our growth and continue to build solutions that make a difference for small businesses across Africa. The selection process focused on the impact of our digital technology in promoting financial inclusion—something that aligns with our core mission of providing SMEs with the tools they need to thrive.
Through the AFIDBA program, we will be receiving specialized support and mentorship that will help us scale, improve our platform, and expand our reach. This is an exciting opportunity for Built as we continue to advance our mission of creating accessible, data-driven financial solutions for African businesses.
Our Focus on Financial Inclusion
At Built, we understand that access to finance is one of the biggest challenges for small businesses in Africa. Many SMEs struggle to access loans due to lack of credit history or financial tools that can demonstrate their credibility. That’s why we’ve built a web-based accounting platform that automatically creates credit profiles for businesses, making it easier for them to secure loans from microfinance institutions.
Being selected for the AFD for Inclusive & Digital Business Accelerator reinforces the importance of our work in financial inclusion and provides us with the resources to further enhance our platform and expand its impact.
